Description
The wooden Smoothing Plane has a blade with a chipbreaker and is used for fine smoothening or finishing surfaces. The chipbreaker breaks chips from the planed material and removes them away from the planed surface. The bed angle is 49 degrees.
The plane is used for the smoothening of both hard wood and veneer surfaces. Whereas the Jack Plane is used for the finishing of soft wood (the blade with the chipbreaker of the Smoothing Plane is inserted at a steep angle to the planed material).
